The BIG EAST Conference Alumni Professionals Organization is dedicated to expanding both the working knowledge of the Alumni Professionals and the networking opportunities for the constituencies in a cooperative environment that promotes such expansion.

History

The Big East Conference Alumni Professionals Organization (BECAPO) was established in March, 1992. Lee Patouillet, Executive Director of the Pitt Alumni Association, convened the first meeting of the group. This was an effort to establish an organization similar to what other conferences like the Big 10 have enjoyed for many years.

The Objectives of BECAPO Are:
  1. To share best practices among Big East alumni professionals
  2. To create a forum for discussing contemporary issues of the day
  3. To develop a greater sense of camaraderie among alumni of the Big East
  4. To establish a network of Big East alumni professionals allowing for enhanced communication among members throughout the year
Some BECAPO Collaborative Efforts:
  1. Joint Big East Alumni Travel Program
  2. Big East Fan Extravaganza held in conjuction with the Big East Tournament
  3. Career Networking Program in Washington D.C.
